Why camps are good
Letting your child go on a Diabetes Youth Camp will benefit your child because of the following:
- They make lifelong friends.
- They learn that they are not alone.
- They will learn to be independent with their diabetes management.
- They are educated with a ‘hands-on’ approach.
- They will learn about everyday aspects and how these aspects can affect their sugar levels.
- They will develop a self-confidence towards diabetes and take steps towards self-care.
The camps are held at Camp Nelu in Hekpoort, we leave on the bus from 18 Eton Road Parktown at 14h30 sharp and return on the Sunday between 15h30 and 14h00.
